DAILY POST gathered that Ekanola until his appointment was the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics. Our correspondent recalls that  five Professors had indicated interest  in succeeding the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Idowu Olayinka whose tenure expired on the 30th of November, 2020. Ekanola scored 275 votes to defeat four other rivals vying for the position. Others who contested include Professor Olanike Adeyemo who scored 13 votes, Professor A. Oluleye who got 80 votes, Professor Adigun Agbaje who got 15 votes and

Local newspaper Allgaeuer Zeitung reported Monday that the 2-meter-tall (almost 7-foot) tall sculpture appeared to have been chopped down over the weekend, with just a sorry pile of sawdust left behind on the 1,738-meter (5,702-foot) high Gruenten mountain. The male genitalia had gained celebrity status in recent years as a destination for hikers, and even appeared on Google Maps, where it was classified as a "cultural monument." Local lore has it that it was made as a prank birthday present for a young man whose family didn't appreciate the gift and so the 200-kilogram (440-pound) sculpture was hauled up the mountain and left

Eighty-nine senators voted in favor of the reform, which has already been approved by the lower house of Congress, while 23 opposed it. It must now be ratified by a majority of Mexico’s 32 state legislatures in order to be declared constitutionally valid. While in office “the president of the republic can be charged and tried for treason, acts of corruption, electoral crimes and all crimes for which any citizen can be tried,” the reform says. The constitution currently states that the sitting president can only be tried for treason and “serious crimes of the common order,” a protection known in Spanish as the  fuero
